Marsh Series (1-4)

This mini series of experimental landscapes are inspired by my memories of the marshes I saw when I visited Delaware while I was in college. I remember leaving that place and being inspired to paint. However, when I returned home, I had returned to the stress and the busyness that comes with being a college student. But those skies and grassy marshes never left my mind.

Each of these four paintings are 8 inches by 8 inches. I experimented with the bright pink underpainting because I remember there always being a tinge of pink in the sky. I applied the paint using both paint brushes and ink brayers. My favorite part of the process was using the brayer. The results weren't what I was expecting, which I really enjoyed.
