Coffee Mural
This mural is in my husband's home office. It's also one of three decorative wall/spaces in our home. My husband is very supportive of my dreams of doing murals for a living but I needed to practice before my first mural commission so he "commissioned" me to paint this wall in his office. We are big coffee drinkers. He actually used to manage a shop with his parents and has worked in 5 different shops. He was even a roaster for a short time. So I thought, “What is a better design than something he enjoys and is hip and fun to look at?”
This mural is approximately 12 feet wide by 9 feet tall. It is done in Sherman Williams house paint black - freehand.
I was about 6 months pregnant at the time and could not sustain working on a ladder for more than 20-30 mins at a time so the project from start to finish took about a week. I began the process by drawing out the coffee plants with some plain Crayola white chalk. I like to use plain chalk when drawing freehand designs because the chalk is easy to remove if mistakes are made — and they will be made! Ha!
